In 2021 Sri Lanka ranked as the 64^th economy in the world in terms of GDP (current US$),  number 84 in total exports,  number 85 in total imports and  number 113 economy in terms of GDP per capita. In 2021 the value of Sri Lanka’s total exports to the world amounted to USD 12.25Bn while Sri Lanka  imported USD 20.05 Bn worth goods resulting in a negative trade balance of USD -7.8Bn during the period.
