- If the catches taken from IMUL boat, a copy of the log book sheet with original stamp and signed by the Fisheries Officer should be produced and if the catches from the small boats (OFAR boats) catch validation certificate in given format submitted by fish supplier should be produced

Process Steps
tep 1 |
Processor/exporter should submit the duly completed catch certificate with relevant documents and log sheets for the caches obtained for the consignment intended to be exported to EU countries to the Quality Control Division at Bandaranayake International Airport (QCD-BIA) for validation.
Catch certificate should be submitted to QCD-BIA for validation at least 5 hours before the shipment
High Seas Fishing Unit (HSFU) sends the information in the format “Verification of VMS Information” with regard to fish landed by fishing boats operating in high sea. This report sent by HSFU to QCD within eight hours after fish landed.

QCD-BIA will validate the catch certificate applied by processor/exporter for the catches obtained from the fishing boats based on the verification report sent by HSFU and details of the certified copy of the log sheet |
Step 3 |
If satisfied, the submitted documents with legal requirements and the SCC/RCC will be validated
QCD-BIA shall release the original set of the validated SCC/RCC to the processor/exporter and retain a set of copies for documentary evidence
If not satisfied the documents will be rejected and returned to the applicant and informed the reasons.

*If the shipment is canceled, the applicant should return the un-used catch certificate(s) within one week for cancellations and removal.
