PROCESS STEPS

Step 1

Trader submits the application with the required documents to the Department of Plant Protection (DPP)

Step 2

DPP reviews the application and the documents submitted

Step 3

If Approved, the Shipment is inspected, samples are collected and sent to the laboratory

If trader imports commodity without import permit or Phytosanitary certificate then case is forwarded to a competent authority for the decision

If rejected, traders are provided the reasons for the rejection

Step 4

Laboratory staffs perform tests, prepare a report and submit it to the DPP for the final decision

Step 5

If the laboratory results are according to the manifesto then the DPP will issue the Release Order to the trader and enter the details of the release order in the WeBoc for the Pakistan custom’s verification at the time of the release of the goods

However, if the laboratory test indicates a defect in the goods then the DPP will either:

If the goods can be cleared after some treatment then the DPP request from the trader to get treatments to the shipment from a registered firm prior to issuing the release order. Or,

Inform the trader regarding the rejection of the application and also inform the custom to destroy the shipment of goods
